Privacy Policy

Effective date: October 12, 2026

Carry Less (“we”, “us”, or “our”) is a task management application built for people who experience time blindness. This Privacy Policy describes what information we collect when you use Carry Less (the “Service”), how we use it, and the choices you have. Carry Less is operated by Ask Poindexter.

By using the Service, you agree to the practices described in this Privacy Policy.

1. Information We Collect

Account information. When you create an account, we collect your email address and a password. Your password is stored as a one-way hash and is never visible to us in plain text.

Content you create. The Service is designed to hold the things you’re trying to get out of your head. That includes task titles, descriptions, notes, checklists, subtasks, brain dumps, timer data (including pause reasons and durations), estimated and actual costs, due dates, priority and category assignments, and any links or files you attach. This content is tied to your account so you can access it across the devices you sign in on.

Usage information. We collect limited usage data needed to show you your own metrics — for example, how long tasks take, how long they sit in each category, and how often you add links, images, or notes. This information is shown to you within the Service and is not sold to or shared with advertisers.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use your information to:

  • Create and manage your account and authenticate your sign-in
  • Provide, maintain, and improve the Service and its features
  • Display your task metrics so you can see your own patterns
  • Send you service-related notifications and respond to your inquiries
  • Monitor for fraud, abuse, and security issues

We do not sell your personal information or task content to third parties.

3. How We Store and Protect Data

Your data is stored on our managed cloud infrastructure, which provides encryption in transit and at rest. Access to your data is controlled by row-level security policies tied to your authenticated account, so other users cannot read or modify your tasks. We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information, but no method of transmission or storage is completely secure.

4. Third-Party Services

We rely on managed cloud providers for database hosting, authentication, and file storage. These providers process data on our behalf and under our instructions, and are bound by their own security and privacy commitments. We do not use advertising or cross-site tracking analytics services that build profiles of you across other sites.

5. Cookies and Local Storage

The Service uses essential local storage to keep you signed in during your session and to remember your preferences. We do not use cookies for advertising or cross-site tracking.

6. Data Retention

We keep your data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account or ask us to remove your data, we will delete it from our active systems within a reasonable period, subject to any legal retention requirements.

7. Your Rights and Choices

You can access, review, and edit your task data at any time within the Service. You can delete individual tasks or your entire account. If you’d like to export your data or request deletion, contact us at hello@belindaalford.com.

8. Children’s Privacy

The Service is not directed to anyone under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with information, contact us and we will delete it.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we’ll revise the effective date above. We encourage you to review this page periodically.

10. Contact Us

If you have questions about this Privacy Policy or your data, contact us at hello@belindaalford.com.
